Serere district woman Mp, Alice Alaso is pleading with president Museveni to reconsider his decision to cancel the public private partnership in Universal secondary school program.
Speaking to journalists at parliament, the legislator said she has received information regarding the letter the president wrote to the ministry of education to cancel the partnership and that the matter will further be discussed in the ongoing NRM retreat in kyankwanzi.
Government has been patterning with private secondary schools to cater for universal secondary education students in sub counties that do not have government secondary schools.
Alaso says instead of cancelling the partnership, they should arrest those officials in the ministry who are misappropriating the funds.
She says if the decision is taken now many students in rural areas who are joining senior one will be denied education
