Health experts are warning that HIV positive clients who also smoke stand higher chances of dying very fast as the act fuels faster development of the virus that causes AIDS.
Gilbert Muyambi, the executive secretary Uganda national tobacco control association (UNTCA) states that according to various research carried out the act of smoking causes TB among other infectious and non communicable diseases which fuel the development of AIDS in the patient’s system.
He also notes that expectant mothers who smoke contributes greatly to the sudden death of their new borns.
WHO and World Bank reports of 2010 respectively reveal that non communicable diseases will be the greatest killers of man in developing countries more than AIDS by the year 2030.
