United Kingdom: Ugandan graduates irrelevant

 

 

Uganda’s graduates are not only irrelevant to themselves, but also to the communities they live in and the world market in UK, America …

The government of Uganda has been unsuccessfully addressing this problem over and over again.

The education we have in Uganda is a continuation of colonial education which Uganda inherited from Britain… because of the problems of mismatch between output of Uganda’s education system and labour demands, the government of Uganda has embraced change in the direction of education.

 

Uganda’s education minister Jessica Alupo says Uganda has resolved that the country’s education must conform to demands of Uganda’s economy.

The government of Uganda in 2012 launched a programme of skilling Uganda aimed at changing the orientation of the education and the attitudes of students in order to impart skills in them.
