The government of Uganda has started mobile fertiliser clinics which it will be using to move in different villages, sub counties and districts assessing soil nutrient deficiencies.
Tress Bucyanayandi, the Agriculture state minister says that the project will first be piloted in Kamwenge, Mityana, Mukono, Nakaseke, Ntungamo, Apac and Dokolo districts before it would be rolled out across Uganda.
Bucyanayandi says that the use of fertiliser and agronomics is one of the many ways Uganda may increase her farm yields. The minister says Uganda is one of the countries in Africa with the minimal use of fertilisers.
Uganda Government policy now is to increase the use of organic and inorganic fertilisers to boost crop productivity for both commercial and domestic consumption.
