Friedrich Miescher Institute PhD Fellowships – Basel Switzerland: Applications are invited for internally funded PhD student fellowships at the Friedrich Miescher Institute (FMI) in Basel, Switzerland.

The Friedrich Miescher Institute (FMI) is part of the Novartis Research Foundation. Our research focuses on epigenetics, growth control and neurobiology.

We employ state-of-the-art technologies to explore basis molecular mechanisms of cells and organisms in health and disease.

  • Proteomics and genomics
  • Protein structure

Our international PhD programme has 100 graduate students from more than 25 countries. The working language is English.

Most students are registered at the University of Basel. The successful candidate holds a Diploma (or M.Sc.) acceptable for matriculation at the University of Basel and has a strong background in cell and molecular biology.

Financial support is in accordance with the scale of the Swiss National Science Foundation. Your income will be generous relative to international standards for PhD students.
