It has been discovered that some high quality HIV/AIDS drugs can be used to cure cervical cancer. Scientists in United Kingdom, Kenya and America have discovered that an HIV pill called lopinavir is so effective in curing the cancer of the cervix.
The doctors and other medical researchers have described this discovery as a breakthrough in treatment and curing of cervical cancer.
Dr Lynne and Dr Ian Hampson of Manchester University, UK, and Dr Innocent Orora Maranga of KenyattaNationalHospital have put a number of cervical cancer patients on the lopinavir for a few weeks. When the patients tested for cancer after three to four months, over 90% of the patients were found free of cervical cancer.
Clinical trials show that the results of treating cervical cancer with lopinavir have exceeded doctors and researchers expectations.
