It seems the priority of President Musevenni’s government is not in the interest of the members of the general public. Because many Ugandans are fond of asking why Uganda government spends millions of money on conducting ruling party caucuses in Kyankwanzi and State House Entebbe yet medical workers are always on strike over poor salaries.
Medical workers at TororoHospital have gone on strike following the end of their 14-day ultimatum that they had given the government of Uganda to pay their three-month salary arrears.
The nurses and doctors at Tororo hospital, it is said, discharged all patients before they abandoned the hospital premises. The strike comes after workers authored a memo dated February 19, 2014 demanding for their unpaid salaries running from December 2013 to-date.
The memo was presented to the Minister of Health for Primary Healthcare, Sarah Achieng Opendi and the Parliamentary Forum on Women Affairs.
