The leader of opposition in parliament Wagula Oguttu suggests
that the only way to mend the gap between the opposition party presidents and
that in power is to allow party presidents that command a certain proportion in
general election slots in parliament.
Wafulla raises this opinion during the opposition hand over
event in parliament’s conference hall as one of the electro reforms that should
be considered.
Wafula says if one has a percentage in the national vote
they qualify to have representation in the house and the party can chose anybody
including a party president.
The occasion was graced by FDC party president Mugisha
Muntu, former LOP Ogenga Latigo, DP party president Norbert Mao, JEEMA
president Asuman Basalirwa, civil society and the speaker Rebecca Kadaga.
How ever Speaker Rebecca Kadaga asked the political party leaders to
avoid involving her in party misunderstanding because they disrupt her
from doing her work.
The speaker says that she has been waiting for
the electrol reforms from both sides of NRM and opposition but they seem to
be dragging.
