The major sponsoring organisation of the MSc in Environmental Sanitation Scholarships is the Flemish Interuniversity Council (VLIR).
Each year, this organisation provides a limited number of scholarships to university graduates from developing countries to enrol in the M.Sc. programme in Environmental Sanitation.
Please note that there are only 10 scholarships a year (out of over 300 applications!).
This means that the competition is very tough.
The Department for International Cultural Co-operation at the Government of Flanders in Belgium, UNESCO, WHO, FAO, NATO, the World Bank, the European Union, Ford foundation as well as foundations and service clubs are known to give scholarships.
Scholarships for studies abroad are usually also awarded at the national level in individual countries.
Students wishing to obtain a scholarship to finance the M.Sc. studies in Environmental Sanitation can obtain information about the organisations awarding scholarships from the Belgian Embassy and from the Ministry of Education in their respective countries.
If you intend to follow the programme whatsoever (even without having obtained a scholarship), we strongly advise you not to await the result of the scholarship selection before starting with the procedure for admission at Ghent University.
