Uganda bans shisha for containing marijuana

 

The Members of Parliament in Uganda want to ban shisha smooking because the product is suspected of containing marijuana. Shisha smooking is common in Uganda amongst youth and women.

Shisha smoking is a brand of smoking where tobacco and some elements of cocaine is flavoured using water. The Ugandan legislators want to ban shisha smooking in a Bill they are currently working on. The MPs are drafting this Tobacco Control Bill (TCB) 2014 which intends to produce an avalanche of laws that will effectively ban Shisha smoking.

The TCB is also intended to providing guidelines for tobacco smokers. The MPs want to ban shisha use before it becomes wide spread amongst Ugandans.
