OHCHR’s Indigenous Fellowship Programme.

 

Applications are invited for attending the Indigenous Fellowship Programme, which runs from 1-4 months for different languages (English, French, Spanish and Russian).

During the Programme, selected Fellows will be based at the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Fellows will undergo interactive trainings on topics such as the work of OHCHR, the UN system and mechanisms etc.

By the end of the programme, fellows will have increased general knowledge about “United Nations system, international human rights instruments and mechanisms, in particular those relevant to indigenous peoples and be capable of giving training sessions within their communities/ organizations on the knowledge acquired.”

Selected candidates for the fellowship will receive air travel support (return ticket by economy class) from their country of residence to Geneva, modest accommodation in Geneva, basic health insurance and a monthly grant to cover living expenses.

There are different dates scheduled programmes in different languages and there are also different deadlines for submitting applications for different languages.
