The Ugandan government has presented its findings into the death of six people at Mulago National referral hospital last week due to lack of oxygen.
Uganda’s Health Minister, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda informed Parliament in Kampala that a team led by Dr. Jane Aceng, the Director General of Health services had successfully investigated the incident and reported its findings to Uganda cabinet.
Minister Rugunda disclosed this development after Rubaga North MP Moses Kasibante, raised the death of the six people at Mulago as a matter of national importance.
The six people who died at MulagoHospital over lack of oxygen included Nicholas Kiiza, Zaituni Nakawuki and Mariam Awol.
Kasibante questioned why Mulago National Referral could lack Oxygen- a basic necessity of life. In his response, Rugunda noted that the death of the patients due to lack of oxygen was regrettable.
