Deputy speaker Jacob Oulanya has given temporary relief to all Uganda EALA MPs after he postponed a move seeking to recall all of them.
It all started after Kawempe north MP raising on a matter of national importance told parliament that the EALA MPs had betrayed the Uganda parliamentarians who voted for them.
The MP accused the nine Uganda representatives of plotting to censure EALA speaker Margret Zziwa without seeking authority from the national parliament which elected them.
It was at this point that government chief whip Kasule Justine Lumumba weighed in and told parliament that whatever the Ugandan EALA legislators are trying to do is a disgrace to the country. She termed it as a total shame which president Museveni should come out and ‘redeem the country’ of such an embarrassment.
The house was then moved by Ntungamo woman MP Naome Kabasharira who tried to move a motion seeking for recall of all Ugandan EALA legislators arising from their ‘ongoing disgraceful’ acts attracting supporting from almost the entire house.
The house heard that Museveni was due to meet the EALA MPs this Thursday to resolve the issue but the Ugandan legislators said their move to censure Zziwa is a big embarrassment which they should also suffer by way of censuring them.
Zziwa is these days surviving on God’s mercy in that ppsition of EALA speaker after almost 80% EALA MPs signed the motion to impeach her.
