Kuwait studies Uganda history

 

Members of the International Islamic Charitable Organisation (IICO) Board of Trustees based in Kuwait and members of the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) university council led by Sheikh Hamdan Abu Nasir met the Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje in Kampala.

Mubajje welcomed Hamdan to Uganda and informed him that Uganda Muslim leaders are elected democratically and in line with the constitution of Uganda.

Mubajje told his visitors that his administrations motto is unity and development which he said is the best way forward for Muslims in Uganda. He said that under development, the his leadership has put special emphasis on education, health and empowering Muslim youth with life skills.

“We also encourage Muslims especially the youth to work hard, save for the future and to beware of foreign lifestyles like homosexuality and betting” the Mufti says. On the side of health, the Mufti says Muslim hospitals are doing a great job but they need logistical support and capacity building.

In his remarks, Hamdan commended the Mufti for his exemplary leadership and pledged to work with him for the good of all Muslims in Uganda. He emphasized the importance of unity, noting that all the troubles that have befallen Muslims around the world are a result of disunity among Muslims.
