A 46 year old woman in Kamwenge Sub county has been banished from
village over allegations of witchcraft.

Turyomurugyendo Resta a resident of Butemba 1 in Kiziba parish of
Kamwenge sub county in Kamwenge district was expelled by residents
during a village meeting chaired by Kabishanga John a police officer
from the department of community liaison.

During a meeting held at Kashwa trading centre yesterday in Kiziba
parish of Kamwenge sub county,hundreds of residents who include the
suspect’s own children accused her of bewitching many peope.

Residents RR.Turyomurugyendo Resta however refutes
allagations saying she has never practiced witchcraft.

Kabishanga John asked residents not to take the laws into their hands
