Opposition politicians plan to burn Kampala, police say

 

On Friday April 11th, 2014, Uganda Police Force received credible Intelligence that some opposition leaders were planning to distort peace and cause mayhem in Kampala.

Uganda Police therefore, according to police spokesman, Fred Enanga, through its mandate of protecting life and property of Ugandans, which is enshrined in the Constitution of Uganda, has taken precautionary measures to restrain such leaders from causing economic and social destruction within the Kampala city centre.

Enanga says that Ugandans especially the youths are encouraged to desist from acts of leaders that may compromise them into lawlessness and conflict with the laws of Uganda.
He says that the Police is going to maintain high visibility within the city center of Kampala until when this threat is diffused.
