There are reports that Uganda is being used by Rwanda to kidnap Rwandan refugees living in Uganda.

Uganda arrests Rwandan refugees and repatriates them to Kigali. For example, Uganda recently arrested Protais Hakizimfura, a Rwandan refugee. The Rwandan refugees in Uganda who talked to weinformers.net on condition of anonymity said that it now seems kidnap is a method of work of Uganda police.

“Many of our colleagues have been arrested and transported back to Rwanda,” one of the refugees told us in Kampala.

Protais Hakizmfura, 66, had been in Uganda on a refugee status for over two years. He served six-year jail sentence in Rwanda before seeking asylum in Uganda.
