Former president of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), Col. Kizza Besigye has said that he is happy that the people of Luweero district in central Uganda have matured in politics.

Speaking at the final rally of the Democratic Party (DP) candidate in Luweero woman MP by election race, Besigye said he is happy luweero has changed its not Luweero which president Museveni used to feed with deception and this by-election is not about Luweero alone but its a national election where Museveni should be sent with the signals. The seat fell vacant after the court of appeal nullified the election victory of Brenda Nabukenya after court found out that the electoral commission did not follow election regulations during her election.

Besigye says that Luweero deserves better not lipservice because this isnt what they fought for in 1986. He has assured the people of Luweero that the opposition leaders and MPs will work in unison to safeguard the votes of the people of Luweero WHOM he has called upon to vote Nabukenya on Thursday 22nd.
