Former Vice President of Uganda Prof. Gilbert Bukenya has said he is not planning to kneel down before president Museveni or to give up his plan to stand against Museveni in 2016 presidential elections.

Bukenya, who is also MP for Busiro North, says Museveni has turned himself into a despot and Ugandans need to join hands and fight off his government.

Bukenya further says the ongoing exercise of promoting Museveni’s sole candidature across the country is illegal.

Under the NRM constitution it is only the party’s Central Executive Committee (CEC)and National Executive Committees (NEC) that have the constitutional powers to recommend candidates for electing in the national conference. Ends
