civil society call for review of NAADs

The Civil society organizations are proposing for a review in the NAADS programme by the Ministry of Agriculture for better service delivery to farmers.

These say its not appropriate for the Ministry of Agriculture to rebrand the program with a new name National Agri-business Promotion Agency (NAPA) yet it will also be doing the same work as NAADS has been, saying this is whodwicking Ugandans.

Speaking in a dialogue on how effectively Agricultural Extension services can be extended to Ugandans, the Executive Director Food Rights Alliance Agnes Kirabo says, it only needs to check where NAADS has failed to perform well and improve than wasting tax payers’ money by coming up with a new project.Cue.Kirabo.Lug.

In a related Development, the MP Kalungu East Vicent Bamulangaki Ssempijja says it was unfortunate to leave out other pillars that had been designed to move effectively with NAADS like financial support and Education on farming which are some of the issues that have seen NAADS fail
