Police have cautioned mothers against carrying babies along to the celebrations like parties, wedding ceremonies, political gatherings, and crowd puling social functions to avert the increasing cases of children getting lost.

Patrick Onyango, the Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, sounded the warning in Kampala on Wednesday while addressing the press on the preparation of this year’s Uganda martyrs day cerebrations. The security measures at the Basilica-Uganda have been toughened. No one will access the Shrines, beneath which Charles Lwanga, one of the 22 martyrs or its holy grounds, without going through security checks.

There are security men at the holy grounds’ main gate that will subject every prigrim to thorough security checks.
