Ugandan Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi has said that Uganda has some of the best laws to fight corruption in the world, including allowing private prosecution of public officials suspected of corruption without consent of the Director of Public Prosecution.
“The laws of Uganda allow you the prosecutor to take a percentage of the recovered funds. This gives motivation to any citizen to go on their own and prosecute the corruption without seeking for approval from any government office,” Mbabazi said while he was addressing the people of Wakiso at Wakiso district headquarters.
The prime Minister also says that Uganda has tried to put in place and strengthen funding for anti corruption agencies and implementation of anti corruption laws.
