mps on defece committee want ministers for defence disciplined

MPS on Defence and internal Affairs committee chaired by Peter Eriaku have protested the misconduct of ministers of Defence towards the committee’s work.
Mps said that ministers of defence Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga and JejeOdongo are overlooking the mps and frustrating their work.
This came after the mps waited for the ministers of Defence to give details of the UPDF presence in south sudan to enable the committee make report to parliament and decide on what to do Uganda’s army deployment south Sudanwithout parliament’s approve.
Mps had summoned ministersto get government response to conflicting reports that south Sudan meets cost of the UPDF presence in south Sudan yet Uganda also claim that is paying all the costs.
Mps wantedto get information regarding the issues surrounding UPDF stay in south sudan and make a report to parliament .
Mps who included Ibrahim Semujju Nganda, Simon Mulonogo , Muwanga Kivumbi said that the two minister must be disciplined under the rule 197 of the rules of procedure for the misconduct.
Mps said that the se minister should face the parliamentary committee on rules and discipline to explain their motive of ignoring the committee work.

Ibraham Semujju should take the committee serious since the money used on UPDF in south sudan belong to tax payers.

However,Ibrahim Semujju put the blame for ministers misbehavior and overlooking the committee on the chairperson of defence and internal Affairs Benny Namugwanya who always favour them whenever they are called to the committee.
He said that Benny Namugwanya is incompetent who should be relieved her duty as the chairperson saying many times she absents herself.
