The international community marked the World Environment Day today, but Uganda postponed this year’s national celebrations, that were due to take place in Kaliro District to Friday because the day was coinciding with the State-of-the-Nation-Address.
Uganda will mark the world environment day under the theme: “Raise Your Voice, Save Uganda’s Fragile Ecosystems.”
The annual event is aimed at drawing the biggest attention to mother earth. During the World Environment Day … that has been marked since 1972 – the United Nations Environment Programme is able to personalise environmental issues to realise their responsibility, and their power to become agents of change in support of sustainable equitable development.
