Police arrests children, demands money from parents

 

The residents of Kampala (Kisugu suburb) stormed Police demanding for the release of their relatives who were recently arrested by police.

The police on June 4th 2014 randomly arrested school going children during a police patrol in areas of Kibuli, Kisugu and Wabigalo, all Kampala suburbs.

The police officer in charge of Kisugu Police Station, Vincent Adura, says the police arrested children to crack down on the high crime rate in Kampala.

A number of crimes are going on in Kampala, especially in Kisugu. Police arrested children bellow the age of 18. The police arrested children as young as 12 years and they are still in custody without police explanation. Ends
