RUFORUM Secretariat has to announce that there are a few scholarships for PhD Plant Breeding and Biotechnology programme that are available through DAAD in region programme support.

The scholarships are tenable for 2014/15 academic year at Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. DAAD promotes international academic exchange as well as educational cooperation with developing countries through various funding and scholarship programmes.

The aim of the in-region scholarship programme is to support RUFORUM¹s regional training programmes.

The PhD trainings at Makerere University start in September 2014. Only candidates available to start the PhD training this September need to apply. Applications are invited from qualified candidates (must be MSc holders in the relevant disciplines) from outside Uganda, but from Eastern, Central and Southern Africa.  Academic staff members from Universities and women are especially encouraged to apply.
