mps ask government to punish people who put ghost workers on payroll

Members of parliament have supported the recommendations by
parliamentary select that has been investigating the delay of the
salaries for civil savants to disband ministry of public service for
its failure to handle pay roll system.

Majority of the mps also want the responsible officials for the delays
in the ministry of public service sacked and punished for their
action.

The report also wants the political heads of the ministry of public
service to take responsibility for failures in implementation of the
new pay roll system.

Government introduced the integrated pay roll system last year to have
all civil servants salaries deposited straight on their accounts.

However some MPs such as Denis Obua Ajuri county and Tororo county
MP Geoffrey Ekanya expressed concerns as to why the report does not
name the civil servants who have been involved in the business of
ghost workers.

They say this is one of the best reports in the record of 9th
parliament but they wonder whether the executive will take action
against those who have been involved in this scam.
