Ugandans are moving away from donor dependency, the government spokesman Ofwono Opondo has said.
Ofwono’s statement follows news development that Americans have cut their support to Uganda army and health over Uganda’s persecution of homosexuals.
The American government has also stopped Ugandan corrupt officials from accessing America. America accuses the Ugandan officials of being corrupt and fighting against the gay community.
Americans claim that the anti homosexual law has triggered a sharp increase in arrests and assaults of Uganda’s lesbian and gay community.
But the government spokesman says Uganda is ready to live with or without donations from Americans. Ofwono says Ugandans have the capacity to run their national budget.
