The out going managers of Amber house a govt building that houses the energy ministry, reveals that it still demands rent fee mounting to 198 million from 60 tenants.
According to the manager, Amber house management limited, Hon. Bamwanga Stephen, 18 tenants have had their property locked up in the offices for defaulting, 23 have their tenancy expiring today and 36 of the others still have their life line to the tenancy with all owing UGX.198 million to the building manager
The revelations comes at a time when the old management has handed over the building to the energy ministry through the state minister for finance, Hon. Aston Kajara to fully own it through the Uganda land commission as the custodian of the land title to the building.
On receiving the building, the state minister for energy, Simon Dujang assures the tenants who still have a life line to their tenancy agreement that they will be handled well in a bid not to inconvenience them though he notes that the ministry needs enough space for operation.
The former managers of the building have also returned UGX.7Bn to govt which they have collected from the tenancy agreements.
