400 census officers trained

Government starts training of over 400 district census officers from across the country ahead of the national population census exercise scheduled for 28th August to 6th September 2014.

The Communications Director Uganda National Bureau of Statistics Godfrey Nabong says after going through a 10 days intensive training they will then train district supervisors at the county level.

Nabong says the district supervisors will also in turn train parish enumerators to enable them execute the exercise effectively.

This during the ongoing of district Population Census officers at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

Nabongo reveals that 35% of the national population census will be used to train officers who will be involved in the exercise countrywide.

He adds that all the census materials have already been distributed to the districts noting that all is set for the exercise
