Kampala central mp Mohamed Nsereko had differed from his colleagues by
defending brigadier Muhoozi keinerugaba’s promotion as being based on
merit.
Addressing a news conference at parliament this morning, Nsereko said
that the brigadier deserves to be promoted because he has performed
his duties very well.
Nsereko also adds that Muhoozi should not be denied a chance to
promotion because he is the son of the president when is actually
performing than the old officers who have been in the army for so
long.
Nsereko ‘s statement comes at the time when some MPs on the defense
committee of parliament are quarrelling Brig. Muhoozi’s accelerated
promotion through the army ranks.
Brig Muhoozi was promoted to Brigadier in 2012, and made the first
commander of the elite Special Forces Command.
The mp however advised those officers who have served in the army for
long time but not been promoted to retire and leave the young ones to
serve.
