security beefed up ahead of census

The security minister, Mululi Mukasa has issued security alert to all Ugandans as the country gets set to embrace census that starts tomorrow where the minister says counting will start at 7am to 6pm daily for the 10 days adding that any one coming before and after those hours should be reported to the authorities.

Speaking to the press ahead of the counting, Mukasa also warns those who intend to disrupt the exercise that they will face the laws.

He also mentions that special considerations and plans have been made for areas that are having conflicts mention, Arua, Yumbe, Amuru, Gulu, Bukwo, Kasese among others.

However, the state minister for finance and planning, Matia Kasaija reminds Ugandans to take part in the exercise for correct information to enable govt plan for the country.

Uganda last held the census exercise way back in September 2002.
