President Yoweri Museveni, together with the First Lady, Janet Museveni were enumerated in the 10-day (28th August – 6th September 2014) National Population Census and Housing Census that kicked off today countrywide. The enumeration exercise that took place at State House, Nakasero was conducted by the Executive Director of the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) Mr. Ben Paul Mungyereza.
Mr. Mungyereza said the interview he had with President Museveni and Mrs. Janet Museveni was done in a cordial and friendly environment adding that the President and his wife answered all the questions in the questionnaire within 45 minutes.
Mr. Mungyereza called upon all Ugandans to give time to the Census exercise because it is important for Government to plan for its citizens. The Census is aimed at providing the socio-economic profile of the population that includes personal information on characteristics, migration, citizenship, education, economic activity, unemployment, disability, orphan-hood, population distribution, size and density, conditions of housing, sources of income and livelihood, household-based agricultural activity.
