government urged to find funds for She cranes

Parliament has today paid tribute to the Uganda national netball team
(She Cranes) for qualifying for the netball world cup slated 7th-16
-2015 in Australia.
The motion for a resolution for parliament to pay tribute to the
national netball team ( She Crane) was moved by the state minister for
sports Charles Bakabulindi under Rule 49 of the parliament Rules of
procedure and seconded by Mityana district woman MP Sylvia Namabidde
and Mbarara municipality MP Medard Bitekyerezo.
While paying the deserved glowing tribute to the Uganda National
Netball team, parliament encouraged all Ugandans with potential talent
in sports, especially the youth to emulate the example set by the She
Cranes as an accomplished team through hard work and determination
On September 19 this year through an excellent team performance, the
She Cranes qualified for the Netball World Cup after thrashing Namibia
by 66- 24 goals in the finals of the Africa Zone Netball World Cup
Qualifying tournament in Gaborone, Botswana.
The She Crane qualified unbeaten after convincingly defeated Zambia
53–48 goals, Zimbabwe 43–42, Botswana 47-32 and Swaziland51-38.
The MPs from both government and the opposition sides in parliament
urged government to put maximum effort in sports since sports Unites
Ugandans better.
Relatedly the Uganda U- 17 national football team will this Saturday
battle Zambia U-17 team for the 2015 Africa youth championship
qualifiers slated in Niger.
Uganda lost 2-0 to Zambia in the first leg in Zambia and it needs 3-o
to qualify the Africa youth championship.
