Dr.Rugunda approved as new premier

Parliament has approved the new Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda .
The motion to approve Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda was moved by the vice vice president Edward sekandi and seconded minister of Defence Dr. Crispus Kiyonga
217 mps approved Rugunda, voted against him and 4 abstained from voting out of 225 mps who were present for this vetting.
Those mps who opposed Rugunda’s approval include 3 Opposed that is Moses Kasibante, Mathias Mpugga Joseph Sewungu and Brenda Nabukenya
The former prime minister Amama Mbabazi told parliament that Dr. Rugunda deserves the new task of prime minister and pledges to support him throughout his tenure of office.
He described Rugunda as participated in the fight against poor politics and led them well in this struggle.
The new prime minister thanked Mbabazi for serving Uganda well as a prime minister.
He promised to focus at implementing the manifesto of the NRM party and the nationa development plan .
He will prioritize the improved service delivery to Uganda and finding ways of getting jobs to the people and asked Ugandans to work together to fight corruption be ensuring demand for accountability and transparency .
The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga thanked the former prime minister Amama Mbabazi for his contribution during his term of office.
She urged the new Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda to urgently bring to parliament laws on electoral reforms to avoid any stumped.
Kadaga told Rugunda to improve on the communication channel with the office of the prime minister for smooth running of parliament and government business.
She asked Rugunda to ensure that NRM mps do not absentee themselves from parliament .
