Democratic Party secretary General and Bukoto South MP Mathias Nsubuga warns Luwero District Chairperson Al Haji Naduli to stop his outbursts of denying people access to the District saying its sets a bad precedent and must be condemned.
This followed the remarks by Luweero District NRM chairman Abdul Nadduli directing St Paul Church of Uganda In Luwero District to cancel a function where sacked Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi was invited as chief guest.
Nsubuga while addressing Journalists at Parliament said NRM party must abide by the code of conduct and desist from behaving like Nadduli to deny one’s Constitutional right of freedom of speech, expression, worship among actually.
He said Nadduli is setting a bad precedent if something is not done, because another leader in another District will also do the same to deny access other leaders who would want to visit a given area.
However, Rev Simon Kyazze, the church cleric at St Paul Church of Uganda Wobulenzi, says through the Bishop of Luweero Anglican Diocese, they invited Mr Mbabazi not as a politician but as a Christian and said It would be an embarrassment if a Church function is turned political when they want to raise funds to complete the church.
