New URA boss to focus on widening tax base for the economic growth

The incoming URA commissioner general, Doris Akol says that she will focus more on laying strategies that will see the tax body widen areas of collecting taxes to enable the country get more funds to financé its programmes.

Speaking at her maiden news conference at URA head offices in Kampala this evening, Akol reveals that she has been privileged to take over from a person who has lifted the authority to glory from scratches and pledges to build from her predecessor’s platform to deliver.

The outgoing commissioner general, Allen Kagina in her simple massage to Akol, she asked her to get URA to the next level since it has not yet got there.

She further describes Doris as a very aggressive and efficient person determined to do all that it takes to have results achived.

Doris a legal person has served URA for 19 years at different level and has been the commissioner legal services and board affairs where as Kagina has served the body for 22 years.
