The minister for education and sports Maj. Jessica Alupo has commended the warm relationship that exists between Uganda and China.
The minister made the remarks while meeting a delegation from China led by the vice chancellor of Shenyang University-China Li Lu Ping at her office in Kampala.
Alupo said China gives Uganda 10 scholarships per year, helps in finding placements for Ugandan students in Chinese varsities, provides part time jobs to Ugandan students, twinned with MUBS and above all, its commitment to setting up the Confucius Institute at MUBS to teach students Chinese.
She says this training facility will make more Ugandans learn Chinese language for education and trade purposes. We recognize your support to our education sector.
Alupo says the NRM government is committed to ending unemployment in Uganda through Skilling Uganda program and therefore urged China to assist NRM party to achieve this vision.
