The vice president of Uganda H.E. Edward Ssekandi is reminding and urging all Ugandan ambassadors and high commissioners to always work towards creating a clear understanding of their individual and collective roles as they deliver services on behalf of the nation.
Opening the 5th annual ambassadors’ and high commissioner’s conference in Kampala today, Ssekandi continues to stress the need for the representatives to employ smart ideas for them to get smart business for the nation as they execute their duties.
In a related development, the state minister for foreign affairs, Asuman Kiyingi sights the problem of administration still faced by the ministry which creates an impression to the general public that the ministry offers no value to the nation and its upon this note that he calls on govt to increase funding towards the ministry to run its duties effectively.
The 5th conference is discussing issues of attracting FDI in mining, oil and gas, effective use of ICT, collaboration between missions and the ministry as well as deepening regional integration.
