In the wake of the attack on Garisa University in Kenya last week where over 147 students lost their lives, the new Makerere University Convocation
While addressing a press conference as the Chairperson elect Makerere Convocation 2014/19, Dr. Tanga Odoi said his team is more than ready to work towards the development of the university and provide advise to governing bodies in Makerere where necessary.
He said that in his term of office focus will be placed on security, staff welfare, job creation for students who went through Makerere University and networking with all the alumni so that they can easily contribute to the university’s development
The new leadership has also rallied for support from the government as it embarks on the different initiatives that it believes will contribute to the progress of Uganda’s Oldest University.
