The Speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga has asked investors from Gulf countries to bring their business to Uganda to enable Ugandans get jobs. Kadaga made the call while meeting the Ambassador of United Arab Emirates to Uganda Abdulla Mohammed Al Takkawi who had paid courtesy call to the Speaker.
Kadaga said that the United Arab Emirates embassy should facilitate means of the investors to come to Uganda and use the available land and peace to make investments that will provide Ugandan unemployed youth with jobs.
Kadaga also asked the United Arab Emirates to ease the visa acquisition conditions to Ugandans and Africans in general so as people do not face difficulty when they want to travel to Gulf countries. She said that easing visa condition for people going in Arab countries would help them get skills in oil industry management so as these jobs are not taken by foreigners.
The Ambassador of United Arab Emirates to Uganda Abdulla Mohammed Al Takkawi said that he will look into the Speaker’s requests and he promised that investors from Gulf countries will soon come to Uganda.
