Drama ensued at Makerere University yesterday after a group of students attempted to block a meeting convened by embattled Makerere university LC 5 Councilor to pronounce his decision to contest for the same seat. During the same meeting, Benard Luyiga intended to clear the air on recent media reports that he was arrested for failing to clear a 10 million shillings debt he had failed to service.
As Luyiga addressed the media and his supporters at the university, a group of voters stormed the meeting denouncing Luyiga arguing that he was no longer a student and should not represent students.
In his defense, Luyiga denied failing to service his loan noting that is problems are works of saboteurs.
