Uganda Cranes registered a second win in their AFCON 2017 qualifying campaign by beating Comoros Island 1-0.
Thróttur Reykjavík F.C midfielder Tony Mawejje scored the only goal of the game in the last ten minutes of the first half after Brian Umony’s cross.
Earlier on Skipper Geoffrey Massa was brought down on the edge which earned the Cranes a free kick taken by Farouk Miya however it was well cleared Comoros defense boys.
The South African-based keeper Denis Onyango, who plays for Mamelodi Sundowns, made some crucial saves including saving a penalty which denied the hosts a chance to smile.
Uganda , who are in Group D, of this year’s AFCON qualifiers, top the group with maximum points from the two games boosting their hopes of progressing to the AFCON finals.
The 2017 AFCON qualifiers next round will be played in March 2016.
