American Congressman Tim Walberg is rallying African countries to oppose what he calls pressure by the United States Government to legalize abortion in exchange for more aid.
Congressman Walberg, who represents the 7th district of Michigan, apologized while meeting the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga at parliament. He said that the pressure being exerted through the State Department and other agencies such as USAID are unacceptable.
The Congressman stressed that abortion must not be accepted since it’s against God`s plans and that many other Congressmen and women are ready to support Africa on such matters.
Kadaga agreed with the congressman noting that Uganda will soon become self-reliant and in turn will avoid aid with such bad strings attached.
Congressman Walberg also asked governmentt to invite American companies to Uganda.
