The Uganda women entrepreneurship fund will start in 19 districts with the highest number of women who are very impoverished. The 385 billion fund will be released by the ministry of finance beginning this financial year 2015/2016.
Launching the program in Kampala today, the State Minister for youth Evelyn Anite warned the accounting officers against discrimination as it was the case for the youth livelyhood program.
The money will be given to women groups after being vetted by the Ministry of gender and the groups will be responsible for repaying back the money through their respective districts. The chairperson of the gender committee in parliament also Nakasongola woman MP Magrate Komuhangi says the ministry of gender should not stop at training women on how to use the money but release it for them to use.
