Government is finalizing a procurement process to hired three public relations firms to market Uganda on world travel market. The three firms are being identified by the Uganda Tourism board and their payment will be catered for by the World Bank.
This was disclosed by the Marketing manager Uganda Tourism Board Edwin Muzahura together with the Board chief Executive officer Stephen Asiimwe soon after meeting the speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga over the Tourism Expo scheduled for 17th -20th November as the country prepares to host Pope Francis. Muzahura says that these PR firms will be based in Uk , USA and Germany and they will be paid 500,000 dollars each. He appealed to police, political players and the media to stop scenes like violence and undressing women that scare away tourists who are planning to visit Uganda because they are costly to the good image of the country.
The chief Executive officer, Stephen Asiimwe, says that Uganda Tourism Board targets to attract 100,000 tourists visiting Uganda every and make the earning of 1 billion dollar.
