The woman member of Kitgum district Beatrice Anywar has abandoned campaigning for any of the opposition leading presidential candidates. Anyar told journalists in Kampala that she is no longer campaigning for either Dr.Kiiza Besigye or Amama Mbabazi though she nominated Amama Mbabazi yet she is hailing from FDC. She said that she refused to campaign for any of the two presidential candidates because of the confusion they created before to the would-be supporters which left her contesting as independent Member of Parliament for Kitgum municipality.
Anywar’s hard time with her political party started when she nominated independent presidential Amama Mbabazi and top party officials denounced her ambition to contest with men in Kitgum municipality on the FDC ticket. Anywar is still angry with the Forum for Democratic Change party for sidelining some party members of parliament for being flag bearers when it has been deducting their funds to fund the party existence. She says that she is not interested in any presidential candidate and she advised her supporters to vote a candidate of their choice not basing on a political party.
Beatrice Anywar is in the race for Kitgum municipality with FDC’s flag bearer Denis Onekalit, NRM party flag bearer Richard Okwera, an outspoken former member of parliament for Chua county Livingstone Okello Okello, among others
