The member of parliament for the Busiro East Merdada Lubega Segoona says that the government should guarantee the future of judges by appointment of new substantive judges. Segoona was reacting to government’s move to hire and redeploy the retired judges to clear case backlog in courts which is standing at 114,512 cases at different stages of court hearing. Segoona says that hiring retired judges to reduce on case backlog is a good initiative but its not a permanent solution.
The member of parliament said that this time government should follow the law while hiring the retired judges because laws are not followed and because of this there are bad implications as a result.
