The Member of Parliament elect who was among the Rebel MPs, Wilfred Nuwagaba, says the overwhelming support for their return to parliament is an indication that they defeated the party dictatorship which was imposed on them. Wilfred Nuwagaba who contested on the independent ticket and won the Ndorwa East parliamentary seat overwhelmingly says that in the 10th Parliament people should expect new firebrand which will talk for people not as per party directives.
He has asked the newly elected MPS for the 10th parliament not to put their party interests first but people’s interests. He says together with other so called rebel MPs Theodore Sekikubo, Mohammed Nsereko, Barnabus Tinkasiimire they will persuade more MPs with independent minds majorly from the NRM party in the 10th Parliament to speak about issues affecting Ugandans so that they are addressed by people with authority .

He notes that as rebel MPs, they want the 10th parliament to be more vibrant than the 9th parliament. He also condemned that manner in which the elections were conducted; saying there were lots of harassment, vote buying majorly from the ruling party to get rid of opposition MPs and MPs with independent minds from parliament.
