The forum for Democratic change says its women will not participate in the celebrations of the women’s day which is scheduled on Tuesday this week. The women’s celebration will be under the theme, ‘Women’s economic empowerment as a vehicle for social transformation and Development.’
Speaking to journalists at parliament, woman MP for Kasese district and FDC member Winnie Kiiza says that its not important to celebrate such a day when the majority of FDC women and their leaders are rigged out in the elections.
Kiiza says that women are still economically lagging behind; much as women are making strides politically a lot is still desired to ensure that women are improving on their income being that they are still have less access to property like land and others.
The global theme for this year’s women celebrations is “A pledge for parity” which is meant for inspiring women across the world and celebrating their achievements.
